Athlete Performance Programme
The Athlete Performance Programme [APP] supports local athletes in their long-term athletic development. We use a holistic approach to training, habits and lifestyle.
Who can be a part of the Athlete Performance Programme?
APP applicants must:
- Attend high school or live within East Dunbartonshire
- Be aged between 12-18 years
- Participate in a sport at a club, regional or national level
After applying, our Coordinator will arrange a call with you. During this call they will go through the next steps.
Please bear in mind that our APP has limited space. Even if you meet all criteria, you may be placed on a waiting list.
What does APP involve?
Athletes need to commit to two pre-school training sessions. These are between 7am-8.15/30am on:
- Monday/ Wednesday morning at Kirkintilloch Leisure Centre
- Tuesday/ Thursday mornings at the Allander Leisure Centre
Our APP sessions are tailored to the individual's age, experience, and sport. As athletes move through the programme, their sessions will progress.
By being part of APP, you will have the same benefits as a 12-15/ 16-17 years all inclusive membership. They will also have two strength and conditioning sessions each week during the school year.
Cost and applying
The APP membership costs £37.49 per month. The programme runs for 40 weeks across the school term (payment is spread across 52 weeks). This will also allow for access to facilities across our three leisure centres.
Applications for APP can be made by completing our online form.
Our Coordinator will then be in touch within 10 working days.
“My time on the APP was a great experience. I learned new techniques to become a stronger, faster, and fitter athlete. These invaluable skills have helped to make me a better player.”
